Water Explorers:
Learn-to-Swim

Our Water Explorers program is designed to help young swimmers build water confidence, safety skills, and strong swimming foundations in a fun and supportive environment. Swimmers will be placed in the appropriate level based on their age, experience, and current abilities. Our goal is to help every swimmer become more comfortable, confident, and capable in the water while building skills that will last a lifetime.

Program Details:
  • Registration will be in monthly sessions - first come first serve 
  • 2 sessions per week (Tues/Thurs)
  • 30-minute sessions
  • $185 per 1-month session
  • No make-ups
  • Small-group instruction focused on individual progress and skill development​

Sessions:
  • September 15th - October 8th
  • October 13th - November 5th
  • November 10th - December 10th 
  • March 16th - April 8th 
  • April 13th - May 6th
  • May 11th - June 3rd

Groups:

Level 1: Minnows (ages 2-5)
Water Comfort & Beginner Skills

Group Details:
Minnows is the introductory level for swimmers who are new to the water or still developing comfort and confidence in the pool. This level focuses on water safety, listening skills, floating, kicking, and basic movement through the water in a fun and supportive environment.

Learning Objectives:
  • Building water comfort and confidence
  • Learning important water safety skills
  • Developing listening and following-direction skills
  • Practicing front and back floating
  • Learning proper kicking technique
  • Developing basic movement through the water
  • Building independence and confidence through fun, supportive activities
 
Class Times:
Tuesday/Thursday:
  • 9:30 -10:00am
  • 5:00 - 5:30pm
  • 6:00 - 6:30pm

Level 2: Guppies (ages 4-7)
Independent Skills, Floating, Gliding & Beginning Swimming

 
 
Group Details:
Guppies is designed for swimmers who are comfortable in the water and ready to begin learning foundational swimming movements more independently, including floating, gliding, and introductory swimming skills.

Learning Objectives:
  • Build independence and confidence in the water
  • Strengthen water safety skills
  • Practice front and back floating independently
  • Develop streamline and gliding skills
  • Learn proper body position in the water
  • Develop foundational kicking skills
  • Introduce basic freestyle and backstroke movements
  • Practice coordinating arms, legs, and breathing
  • Increase the ability to swim short distances independently
  • Develop comfort transitioning between floating, gliding, and swimming

  • 10:00 -10:30am
  • 5:00 - 5:30pm
  • 6:00 - 6:30pm

Level 3: Barracudas (ages 5-8)
Stroke Development & Diving Fundamentals

 
Group Details:
Barracudas is designed for swimmers who can move independently through the water and are ready to improve stroke development. Swimmers build stronger freestyle and backstroke skills while being introduced to breaststroke, butterfly fundamentals, and diving.

Learning Objectives:
  • Build stronger freestyle and backstroke technique
  • Improve body position, balance, and streamline
  • Develop consistent kicking and arm movement
  • Practice breathing and stroke coordination
  • Increase swimming endurance and distance
  • Introduce foundational breaststroke technique
  • Introduce butterfly fundamentals, including dolphin kick and arm movement
  • Develop safe and proper diving skills
  • Improve starts, turns, and finishes
  • Build greater independence, confidence, and efficiency in the water

Tuesday/Thursday:
  • 10:30 -11:00am
  • 5:30 - 6:00pm
  • 6:30 - 7:00pm

Level 4: Flying Fish (ages 8-12)
Advanced Stroke Development & Swim Team Readiness

 
 
Group Details:
Flying Fish is the highest level within the Water Explorers Program and is designed for swimmers who are becoming confident and independent in the water. This level focuses on refining stroke technique, increasing endurance, and preparing swimmers for transition into a swim team environment.

Learning Objectives:
  • Refine freestyle and backstroke technique
  • Improve stroke efficiency and body position
  • Develop stronger breathing and stroke coordination
  • Increase swimming endurance and distance
  • Strengthen kicking and propulsion
  • Continue developing breaststroke and butterfly technique
  • Practice starts, turns, and finishes
  • Build confidence swimming independently
  • Develop skills needed for group/team practices
  • Introduce swim team expectations and terminology
  • Prepare swimmers for a smooth transition into a competitive swim team environment
